Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

Account details. Your first and last name, email address, and a hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.

Your resume. The file you upload and the text and structured data extracted from it — your work history, skills, education, job titles, and career level.

Your preferences. Job families, career levels, locations, and companies you want excluded.

Your activity. Scans you run, listings you are matched to, jobs you save or mark applied, and documents the Service generates for you.

Payment records. If you buy a plan, we store Stripe identifiers and the status of the payment. We never see or store your card number — Stripe handles it directly.

Technical data. IP address, browser and device type, and server logs, used to run the Service and keep it secure.

2. How We Use It

We use the data above to:

• Match job listings to your resume and calculate your career level.
• Generate cover letters, interview preparation, and resume recommendations you request.
• Create and run your account, and send you service email such as verification and password resets.
• Process payments and manage your plan.
• Send job alert emails, if you have them switched on.
• Keep the Service secure, debug failures, and prevent abuse.

We do not use your resume to train AI models, and we do not build advertising profiles from it.

3. AI Processing

To score matches and generate documents, the Service sends the text of your resume together with the relevant job description to a third-party AI provider, which processes it in the United States.

We use one AI provider. Your resume is not sent to any other AI vendor.

4. Who We Share It With

We share data only with the service providers needed to run MyCareerLevel:

• Cloud infrastructure providers — hosting, database and file storage.
• An AI provider — generating match scores and documents from your resume.
• Stripe — payment processing. Named because you interact with it directly at checkout.
• A content delivery and security provider — serving the site and protecting it from attacks.
• An email delivery provider — account and alert email.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, ad networks, data brokers, recruiters, or employers.

We may disclose data if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Genview AI LLC or others. If the business is ever sold or merged, account data may transfer as part of that transaction; you would be told before your data became subject to a different privacy policy.

5. Cookies and Tracking

MyCareerLevel sets one cookie. It holds your login session and is set as httpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it. Without it you could not stay signed in.

There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no tracking pixels on this site. We do not run analytics or advertising products of any kind, and there is nothing here that follows you to other sites.

The only asset we load from a third party is the site typeface. That provider receives the request for the font file, which includes your IP address.

Because we set no non-essential cookies, there is nothing to consent to and no cookie banner.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. No agreed standard exists for how a site should answer one, and MyCareerLevel does not respond to these signals.

In practice this changes nothing for you. We do not follow your activity across other websites, so there is no cross-site tracking here for a Do Not Track signal to switch off.

7. How Long We Keep It

We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete individual resumes at any time.

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. Your resume, scan history, saved jobs, generated documents, and account details are removed and cannot be recovered. Do it from Account Settings, under Danger Zone.

We keep a minimal payment record after deletion where tax and accounting law requires it. Server logs, which contain IP addresses but not your resume, are kept for a short period for security and debugging.

8. How We Protect It

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Credentials are held in a managed secrets store, never in source code. Every query is scoped to the signed-in user so accounts cannot read each other’s data, and administrative access is limited and logged.

That said, no online service can promise perfect security. We cannot guarantee that a determined attacker will never succeed. Use a strong, unique password, and tell us at info@mycareerlevel.com if something looks wrong with your account.

9. Your Choices

• See and correct your data — your profile, preferences, and resumes are all visible and editable in the app.
• Download what the Service generated — cover letters, interview prep, and resume recommendations can be downloaded on paid plans.
• Delete your data — remove a resume at any time, or delete the whole account from Account Settings.
• Stop job alert email — turn alerts off in Preferences, or use the unsubscribe link in any alert.

Service email — verification, password resets, payment receipts — cannot be switched off while the account exists, because it is needed to operate the account.

For anything you cannot do in the app, email info@mycareerlevel.com and we will action it.

10. California Residents

If you live in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you the right to know what personal information we collect, to request a copy, to ask us to correct or delete it, and not to be treated differently for exercising those rights.

In the last twelve months we have collected these categories:

• Identifiers — name, email address, IP address.
• Professional or employment information — your resume, work history, and skills.
• Education information — as it appears in your resume.
• Commercial information — plan purchased and payment status.
• Internet activity — how you use the Service, and server logs.
• Inferences — the career level and match scores derived from your resume.

We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising in the last twelve months, and we do not do so. There is no “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” link because there is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@mycareerlevel.com from the address on your account.

11. Children

MyCareerLevel is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email info@mycareerlevel.com and we will delete the account.

12. Where Your Data Is Held

MyCareerLevel is operated from the United States, and all data is stored and processed on servers in the United States. If you use the Service from another country, you are sending your data to the United States, where privacy law may differ from your own. The Service is intended for users in the United States and we do not target it at the EEA or the UK.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the foot of this page shows when it last changed. If we change what we collect, how we use it, or who we share it with, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you by email before the change takes effect.
